In addition to successful collabs, like the last one with HANON or the one with MAHARISHI, the legendary Japanese brand MIZUNO continues to invest in innovation to develop new models combining performance and eye-catching designs. The latest is the Wave Rider β which pays homage to the iconic Wave Rider.
The century-old Japanese brand MIZUNO is known for being dedicated to researching and creating high-quality products since its inception in 1906, so that wearers feel comfort and accentuate their performance. Since 2018, the label has also decided to merge this spirit of innovation with eye-catching lifestyle-oriented designs to create a new “Sportstyle” line. It combines the brand’s century-old heritage based on innovation with a modern vision of style that respects MIZUNO’s quality requirements.
The all-new Wave Rider β is the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. It evokes MIZUNO’s Japanese heritage by drawing inspiration from several iconic Wave Rider models, while sporting a very current look.
This silhouette is available in 2 packs, each composed of 2 different colorways.
The first one presented today includes a Pine Green version (off-white/forest green) and another Navy Blue (off-white/navy blue).
The shoe consists of an exclusive mesh upper in off-white with a design reminiscent of the various models of the Wave Rider since the very first variation in 1997. This base is complemented by a high quality suede overlay surrounding the foot, green or navy blue depending on the version. This model features a pointed and tapered toe inspired by the Wave Rider 8,9,10 and 11. The whole is based on the midsole and outsole taken from the Wave Rider 26.
As for other design details, the pastel yellow tinted Runbird logo is present only on one side of the foot and the Wave Rider β branding adorns the heel counter. The lace eyelet area and tongue are dressed in cream to match the look elegantly. An off-white midsole and black outsole provide the finishing touch.
The Wave Rider β MIZUNO Pack I will be released on March 24, 2023 at select retailers like BSTN or ASPHALTGOLD and on mizuno.com. The price is set at $190 per colorway.
Pack II will be unveiled on April 7, 2023, stay tuned !
