UNION LA x Nike Cortez

The shop UNION LA unveils a new part of its partnership with Nike. Following the collaborative Dunk Low presented a few days ago (article available HERE), the store founded by Chris Gibbs brings its touch to another cult silhouette of the Swoosh brand, the Cortez.

The Nike Cortez is one of the most important models of running and street culture. It was created in 1972 by a former University of Oregon track and field coach, the famous Bill Bowerman, who is also the co-founder of Nike. With its success on the racetrack, the silhouette has made its way to the streets and even the movies. It’s also part of the essential pairs of the world of rap of the 90’s. This sports shoe became lifestyle, knew how to pass the fashion trends while remaining popular.

UNION LA has redesigned this historic model in a new way.
Available in two colorways, Honey/Red and Black/Blue, it features a textile base with suede overlays. Just like the Air Jordan 4 revisited a few months ago, the nylon tongue features a tongue tag with zig-zag stitching. To complete the look, the laces are two-tone, the insoles are cork and the sole is speckled. Union LA branding details confirm the collab, including the tongue tag and the heel tab which is adorned with the “Halo Man”.

The UNION LA x Nike Cortez in 2 colorways will be released in 2022, in stores and online at unionlosangeles.com and nike.com. More info to come, stay tuned !
