Nike Air VaporMax 2021 « M. Frank Rudy »

The American giant NIKE expands its collection in tribute to Frank Rudy, the aerospace engineer who designed the encapsulated Air technology. In addition to the Air Max 90 and Air Max 97 presented earlier, a VaporMax has just been unveiled.

After being turned down by several shoe companies, the technology developed by Frank Rudy caught the interest of NIKE’s forward-thinking founder, Phil Knight.
First introduced on the Air Tailwind model, the visible Air units became a worldwide success when they appeared on the iconic Air Max 1 designed by Tinker Hatfield in 1987. This revolutionary technology is still on the NIKE design radar.

The VaporMax 2021 « Mr. Frank Rudy » consits of a white stretchy FlyKnit upper, accented by a yellow heat-fused side Swoosh. The wavy heel cup is also dressed in this yellow hue. To affirm the homage to Frank Rudy, the pair benefits from a blue and yellow hangtag of license plate type. It features the inscription « Nike Air California », which appears as a nod to the state where Frank Rudy had settled until his death in December 2009. A yellowed Air Sole adds the finishing touch to the design.

The Nike Air VaporMax 2021 « Mr. Frank Rudy » will be released soon at select retailers and on nike.com, for a price of $210.
