The REEBOK brand structures its work in order to create models combining tradition and modernity. For some time now, it has been attracting the attention of sneakerheads through exclusive and diversified collaborations. After recently teaming up with Mountain Research on the famous Beatnik, the legendary sportswear label is teaming up with LQQK Studio to offer us a revisited Classic Leather.
Founded in 2010 as a print shop, LQQK Studio has also become a lifestyle brand in 2016. The Brooklyn-based design collective has worked with designers, artists and creatives across all mediums.
Alex Dondero, the founder of LQQK Studio, and his team wanted to pay homage to their brand’s roots with this new collaboration. He explained : « When we designed this shoe, we wanted a printed pattern to be the main focus. We didn’t want to make a white shoe that didn’t push the envelope. So we created this wild print shoe… The printer’s shoe! »
The reinterpreted Classic Leather is dressed in an all-over print inspired by pattern production through screen printing techniques.
LQQK Studio replaced the traditional leather upper with textile to apply a colorful camo pattern of tree leaves.
This sneaker is presented in 2 colors: Bubble Gum/Pine Green and Wild Brown/Bright Ochre.
The 1st appears in predominantly pink and the 2nd brown, the two contrasted by green. The LQQK logo replaces the usual REEBOK on the tongue and quarter panel and also stands out on the heel. To ensure the design, the laces, inner lining and under heel part of the midsole are presented in the main color, pink or brown. A white midsole paired with a gum outsole harmoniously finalizes the look.
The 2 LQQK Studio x Reebok Classic Leather will be released in different ways. The « Bubble Gum » will only be available from September 16-19, 2022 at the pop-up hosted by LQQK Studio at 109 Montrose Avenue in Brooklyn, while the « Wild Brown » version will launch on September 21, 2022 at select retailers and on reebok.com.
