A few days ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the third collaboration between the famous Czech retailer Footshop and KangaROOS. Just like the Ultimate 3 « The City Of A Hundred Spire » and « Flip » released in 2018 and 2019 respectively, this new iteration « Nocturna » is inspired by the city of Prague. It’s handcrafted and individually numbered.
After dressing this flagship silhouette from German brand KangaROOS in dark brown/mint green, then light brown/mint green, Footshop replaces the brown hues with a timeless and elegant black colorway.
It features a smooth perforated black suede upper with contrasting green leather and suede lower overlays, complemented by an addition of canvas-like ballistic nylon. As a nod to the previous 2 versions, the sneaker sports a green tongue with a dark brown pull on one foot and light brown on the other. To complete the look, the reworked inner lining is dressed in light brown and the black and silver tongue co-branding features the number « 10 » added on the name of the Czech shop, affirming the anniversary project. On the right heel is the silver FOOTSHOP embroidery and on the left is the famous Prague’s Charles Bridge. A comfortable polyurethane foam midsole in white with a touch of grey, and a black rubber outsole bring the final touch to the design.
I find this latest « Nocturna » collaboration a beauty. As usual with KangaROOS, we discover premium quality materials coupled with excellent finishes. The design which was made by my friend Kovkou is once again 100% validated. For me, this is a « Must-Have » in a sneaker addict collection.
The pair is available in stores and online at footshop.com. This last version is the most limited of the 3 : only 250 copies worldwide.
