After announcing the arrival of the District Vision brand on its shelves, the iconic FOOTPATROL shop unveils its latest creative project. It has teamed up with Swedish art designer Jimmy Sober aka Formbark to celebrate the launch of the Nike ISPA FW2023 collection.
At the end of 2018, American giant Nike introduced us to a new project dubbed IPSA (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt). This innovative program aims to create out-of-the-ordinary sneakers, imagined by Shamees Aden, and thought of as true everyday allies. With this line, Nike has brought another vision to the design of lifestyle and performance footwear. Moving away from traditional leather and suede, these hybrid models are built with experimental and sustainable materials. ISPA offers a range of pieces combining functionality, practicality, style and ecology. The design is based on just 3 parts : the elements of the shoe are linked together by the lacing system and the heel tab. This avoids the use of glue (toxic and harmful to the environment) and makes each part of the shoe changeable and recyclable.
FOOTPATROL is also committed to protecting the environment, and opts to highlight eco-responsible initiatives.
To celebrate the launch of Nike ISPA’s new FW 2023 collection, the London-based shop traveled to Sweden to meet Formbark and commission him to create 6 bespoke outfits featuring the latest pieces from the ISPA line.
Jimmy Sober aka Formbark is a creative whose style blurs the boundaries between art and outdoor. He likes to combine these 2 universes, which are so dear to him, in his creations. Based in the Swedish countryside, Jimmy Sober spends a lot of time in the woods. He’s fascinated by the great diversity of the natural world and uses this influence in his creations. This wildly imaginative character creates interesting combinations of materials, textures, shapes and colors.
FOOTPATROL noticed that this artist’s artistic sensibility fits perfectly with the vision of Nike’s ISPA line.
Jimmy Sober explained in an interview with Footpatrol : “To make these outfits (celebrating ISPA FW 2023 products), I bring in a lot of natural raw materials to get a broader aesthetic and symbolic toolbox. Also, I love moss!”
