Between New Balance and Teddy Santis, the chemistry is always there. The New York designer boosts the Boston-based brand’s offer thanks to his role as creative director of the Made in USA line and through collabs with his label Aimé Leon Dore (various articles available on this site).
New Balance and ALD are cooking up a new drop : an exclusive NB 650 duo.
A little over a year ago, Teddy Santis had partnered with New Balance to update the famous NB 650. This high top version of the NB 550 was offered in several colorways, with a white leather base with most of the overlays matched.
The 2 new ALD x NB 650 versions teased today have a rather opposite look to the previous ones. They consist of a yellowed mesh upper, mostly covered with thick leather in navy blue or grey depending on the version. To affirm the vintage design, the iconic N logo on the side appears in beige with a cracked effect. The thin New Balance branded ankle overlay and heel clip are also dressed in beige, contributing to the harmonious design. A co-branded tongue and heel, as well as an all off-white sole add the finishing touches.
