After reintroducing the NB 550 with great success, Teddy Santis has updated another iconic silhouette from the Boston-based equipment manufacturer, the NB 650R. A first look was given to us on the personal account of streetwear brand founder AIME LEON DORE.
The New York designer turned Creative Director of New Balance « Made in USA », will delight a lot of sneakerheads again by offering the famous NB 650 from the 80s Remastered. This sneaker appears to be the high version of the NB550.
For now, the vintage silhouette is presented to us in 3 classic colorways reminiscent of previous collabs based on the NB 550 : « White/Grey », « White/Navy » and « White/Green ». The shoe consists of a white upper in smooth leather and perforated leather with mesh accents and contrasting co-branding details. This includes the famous side N, the model number on the lower eyelets, the New Balance branding applied under the ankle and the tongue co-branding in grey, navy or fir green. The high, thick collars that provide support and comfort remain dressed in white. The whole is based on a yellowed vintage midsole and an outsole that takes up the contrast color present on the upper.
