Almost a year ago, Kanye West announced the launch of the YEEZY partnership with the iconic brand GAP (article available HERE). Yesterday, YE unveiled his new video « The Life of the Party » paying tribute to his mother and offering new insights into the upcoming YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga collection.
As a reminder, back in January 2022, Kanye West announced that he was extending his collaboration with GAP by adding BALENCIAGA to the project for a « creative exploration. »
As a further tribute to Donda, the famous rapper released the video for the track with guest star Andre 3000 (OutKast) on Mother’s Day in the US. The video of « The Life of the Party » is similar to a series of photos tracing the life of Kanye West, from childhood to adolescence, sometimes with his late mother to whom he had already dedicated his album DONDA.
Through this clip, the multidisciplinary artist presents pieces from the collection YEEZY GAP Engineered by Balenciaga. The images have been retouched to give the illusion of young Kanye dressed in this collab.
The line features a wide assortment of apparel and accessories, including hoodies, sweaters, tracksuits, jackets, down jackets and backpacks.
The YEEZY GAP collection Engineered by BALENCIAGA will be released on May 25, 2022, on yeezygap.com, as well as at Farfetch, Mytheresa and LUISVIAROMA. Don’t sleep !
