The two iconic Japanese brands BAPE and ASICS unveil a new part of their collaboration. After offering us a GEL-1090 silhouette in dark hues (article available HERE), the two compatriots dress it in a bold and eye-catching blue/red colorway.
The shoe combines the 2000s performance aesthetic of the ASICS OEM with BAPE’s iconic Camo FRANCE. This special pattern is only used for the A BATHING APE collections for France.
Originally released in 2003, the sneaker has been updated to increase comfort and performance, while retaining details consistent with the 2000s looks of the Harajuku district, the precursor of Japanese streetwear. It consists of a base covered with the teal blue, red and white Camo France, complemented by royal blue suede overlays with touches of white. As with the previous colorway, the front and rear reinforcements are adorned with « tiger claws ». An off-white midsole with a touch of blue under the heel and a red outsole finalize the design.
The BAPE x ASICS GEL-1090 « Camo France » will be available soon in ultra limited quantities at a price of 140€, exclusively in the Paris’ BAPE store, the BAPE corner of Galeries Lafayette on the Champs-Elysées and online at bapefrance.com. Be ready !
