The Los Angeles-based label anchored in street culture THE HUNDREDS unveils the second part of its collaboration with the German brand Puma. This next project is based on the Future Rider silhouette. This shoe in bright and varied colors was designed largely using recycled materials.
California’s design team The Hundreds is aware of environmental issues. They have embarked on an eco-friendly approach to preserve nature and ensure a better future for our children. Their motto « People over product » takes on even more meaning with this new Puma Future Rider made from 80% eco-friendly materials.
The sneaker, with its fresh and daring design, is dressed in grey and red through green, beige, purple and yellow. It features a recycled light grey mesh upper, with green chrome-free leather overlays on the laceguard and purple on the side panels, and red suede reinforcement in the front of the foot and yellow in the heel. To continue the eco-friendly approach, recycled rubber elements such as the red heel clip are used. The black mesh inner lining and tongue with matching laces, as well as a beige insert under the purple Puma side stripes complete the design.
In terms of branding details, the famous leaping puma is embroidered in white on the heel cap and the Hundreds brand appears on a red label hanging below the upper laces eyelet. In order to claim the eco-friendly approach, a small description of the shoe’s composition is written on the heel cap and ecological symbols are added to the Puma and The Hundreds logos on the midsole. The latter is white with a blue upper border, adding an extra touch of color. Its IMEVA composition offers lightness and delicate cushioning. The whole is based on a black rubber outsole.
This pair is part of a collaborative collection that also includes textile items and accessories also made with ecological or recycled materials. It includes a Chore jacket, chino pants, reversible shorts and organic cotton t-shirts, as well as a convertible bag and caps.
The Hundreds x Puma Future Rider is already available in the United States and should arrive in France shortly as indicated on the eu.puma.com website. The pair will also be available at selected retailers for a suggested retail price of 110€, sizes ranging from EU 38 to EU 48.
