The Italian brand DIADORA continues to present us with qualitative and thoughtful collaborations. After teaming up with Shanghai retailer DOE (article available HERE), the label founded by Marcello Danieli over 70 years ago has teamed up with the charity STUDENTS RUN PHILLY STYLE to bring us a special Game High silhouette.
The STUDENTS RUN PHILLY STYLE (SRPS) charity aims to « transform » students through running and mentoring. It pairs volunteer runners, « Running Leaders », with students to challenge them to push their limits and channel their energy. The goal is to complete a marathon or half-marathon. STUDENTS RUN PHILLY STYLE advocates self-expression through sport, not violence, and confidence building.
This limited, unisex, collaborative edition is styled after a Philadelphia gourmet staple, the water ice everyone enjoys in the summer.
The reworked Game High features a white waxed and distressed full grain leather upper with a midnight blue side logo. This contrasting color was also chosen to define the lining, the under-collar area, the Diadora heel branding and the laces. The look is completed with the pink SRPS logo on the tongue tag and the famous Popsicle illustration on the side heel. The insole has also been reinterpreted to honor Philly and student runs. It features an artistic representation of the Schuylkill River path map, hand-painted by SRPS junior Celeste Ortiz-Lugo. Another student, @iyeyindae, helped design this exclusive Game High.
The pair will come in a special white and blue shoe bag mimicking the 4.5kg ice bags.
The Students Run Philly Style x Diadora Game High is limited to 200 pairs and will be released on November 11, 2021 athttps://studentsrunphilly.org/sneaker-order/. The price is set at 200$ and all proceeds from sales will be donated to the STUDENTS RUN PHILLY STYLE mentoring program.
