The Tel Aviv boutique SNEAKERBOX is once again partnering with the French brand Le Coq Sportif to offer us a new « Made In France » version of the R800 silhouette, called « Sherut Taxi ».
This collaboration follows the first « Hummus » iteration released in February 2018 inspired by traditional Middle Eastern food. For this new « Made In France » pair, Sneakerbox wished to remain faithful to its roots and pay tribute to the popular means of locomotion, widely used its country Israel : the shared cab, and more precisely the Sherut taxi number 5. The main route of this 8/10-seater mini-van is the Dizingoff road, which connects the 1st Sneakerbox shop to the latest one.
This vehicle is dressed in yellow, white and purple colors ; a palette that can be found on the R800 revisited. This shoe is composed of a yellow mesh upper on the toe box and purple on the rest of the foot with overlays in suede and nubuck respectively white and yellow. The heel is triple layered, a white leather base topped with black suede with the winged Sneakerbox logo embroidered in yellow, and purple patent leather. On the heel tab, the black Sneakerbox brandings for the right foot and Le Coq Sportif for the left foot complete the look. The inner lining with colorful patterns on a blue background is a nod to the print of the taxi seats. The yellow laces have a number 5 lock laces and the triangular Le Coq Sportif logo appears in white on the side panels. The whole is based on a black midsole with yellow and red touches, combined with a black outsole.
The Sneakerbox TLV x Le Coq Sportif R800 « Sherut Taxi » will be released in a limited edition of 450 pairs, in Sneakerbox TLV shops from November 13, 2020, then it will be available on November 14 in the Le Coq Sportif Pop-Up store on rue des Rosiers in Paris, as well as online at www.lecoqsportif.com
