Last month, an upcoming collab between the famous Swedish shop SNS and the American brand NEW BALANCE had surfaced on social networks (article available HERE). Today, Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson, the founders of Sneakersnstuff, bring details and unveil this new collaborative pack.
SNS is participating in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the popular NB 991 silhouette by releasing 2 personal versions : the NB 991 EF and the NB 991 PJ.
This collab also honors the 40th anniversary of the famous British shoe factory located in Flimby and offers us a nostalgic return to 2005 when the founders of SNS went to this factory to design their first NB sneaker. For the anecdote, the time was so limited that this 1st collaboration based on the 577 silhouette came to life in only 10 minutes ! Good job !
Back in 2022. The 2 SNS x New Balance 911 exclusives have a very distinct look.
The first colorway « Erik » comes in a bold yellow, blue and white color palette taken from the flag of the Canary Islands, a nod to the roots of SNS co-founder’s father-in-law.
The second colorway « Peter » has a more classic look and pays homage to the original SNS x NB 577 duo, with a white/grey/navy blue color block.
Just like the 577s from 2005, these collaborative NB 991s are Made in UK and manufactured in the iconic UK factory in Flimby. They feature a premium material upper combining leather and pig suede. Both models feature a black side N logo with white outlines and a grey heel clip. SNS branding details are minimal, standing out especially on the white insole. These shoes benefit from the comfortable ABZORB technology midsole in white and grey. A timeless black rubber outsole finalizes the look.
With these collaborative pairs, Erik Fagerlind and Peter Jansson also want to honor the rich and versatile history of the coastal town of Flimby. This place is not just about making sneakers. Flimby presents an ideal setting for activities centered around nature and treasures of the sea.
The SNS x New Balance 991 « Made in UK » pack will be released exclusively at Sneakersnstuff, in stores and online at sneakersnstuff.com via an already open raffle on the SNS app. The pairs are offered in men’s and women’s sizes, priced at €229 each.
