Nike Dunk Low SP « Thank You For Caring »

American sportswear giant Nike will further expand its popular Dunk Low range in 2021. On the program are several new iterations, including a multicolored and printed « Thank You For Caring », scheduled to begin the coming new year.

The shoe recalls the « What The » theme or the collaborations with Travis Scott. It features a patchwork of different colorful prints and a combination of various fabrics and materials. This Dunk Low seems to have a connection with Nike’s Blue Ribbon Studio, whose inscription appears on the side panels. Blue Ribbon Studio is a craft space where Nike employees can express themselves and do crafts using the many tools at their disposal, such as 3D printers and laser cutters.

The shoe is mostly dressed in red on the toe box, with an overlay adding white and floral patterns. The side panels appear in raw taupe color, the heel tab green and the side heel tab yellow complemented by the Element brand logo in green. This little nod can be seen as a tribute to the Dunk’s deep roots in the world of skateboarding. A red insole, a translucent side Swoosh and the Nike Sportwear branding appearing as a nutritional value label on the reworked tongue complete the design. The whole is based on a white midsole and a beige outsole, which matches with laces that look like they are made from jute.

The Nike Dunk Low SP « Thank You For Caring » is scheduled for release in January 2021 at selected retailers and on Nike.com. More info coming soon, stay tuned !
