A little over a year after the release of the GEL-Lyte III « Nice Cream », NICE KICKS and asics team up once again and present us with another reinterpretation of the famous split tongue silhouette. The partners remain on the theme of ice cream but in a flavor paying tribute this time to the brand ASICS and Japan : the black sesame.
While « Nice Cream » was inspired by the classic flavors loved by the Nice Kicks team, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, this « Black Sesame » highlights a rich and unique flavor that is part of the typical Japanese dessert. Over time, this ice cream flavor has become common and popular, offering a new dimension to sweets.
This exclusive premium GEL-Lyte III consists of an upper combining different materials in a dark grey main shade reminiscent of the visual of black sesame ice cream.
Perforated suede on the toe box, faded suede on the overlays and patent leather Tigers Stripes. Black nettings add a touch of contrast. To complete the design of this sneaker, asics and Nice Kicks were also inspired by the sometsuke bowls used as containers for ice cream. This particular detail appears in the form of a light blue/dark blue graphic pattern applied to the tongue and collar. The green color used for the laces and the part under the heel of the outsole, corresponds to the mint leaves added on the black sesame ice cream to exacerbate the taste. A white leather inner lining, co-branded graphic insole and an « ice cut » hangtag complete the look. The whole is based on a white/black midsole and a black/green outsole that provide the final harmonious touch to the design.
