The London lifestyle brand of designer Damian Malontie, CareFree, has teamed up with the Japanese from Mizuno to present us a collaboration inspired by the 90s. Faithful to Malontie’s influences, the vintage and casual silhouette of the Sky Medal was chosen to elaborate this project.
The shoe consists of an upper combining white mesh on the toe box, white leather on the toe, heel and side overlays, and dark green mesh on the sides. We also find the iconic RunBird in synthetic material in a bright red shade, touches of blue-violet on the collar and burgundy red on the inner lining. To affirm this 90’s design, the Mizuno branding is embroidered in two colours, red and green, on the upper part of the white leather tongue. On the heel, the CareFree signature logo adds cachet to the pair, as do the white aglets laces with the name of the label. This sneaker may be delivered with another pair of white laces covered with the London brand name. To finalize the look, the whole is based on a white midsole and a black outsole with touches of red.
The CareFree x Mizuno Sky Medal is now available on the London label’s website https://www.malontie.com/ while stocks last and at all Mizuno Kazoku retailers such as Hanon and BSTN via draws. The recommended retail price of this pair is 150€.
