Nowadays, thanks to social networking and the open-mindedness of consumers, self-taught designers can showcase their designs to public and hope to make a living from their passion. SachFB is a Belgian designer whose 100% upcycling and handmade products particularly caught our attention.
Here’s a short introduction to this designer and his products.
SachFB hails from Brussels. Passionate about fashion, this designer has been working with denim, flannel and other materials for some 10 years. His passion for couture is entirely self-taught.
With his artistic vision and that of his twin brother, OwaishSB, he decided to create the OSDenim label – ‘O’ for OwaishSB, ‘S’ for SachFB and Denim in homage to the material she prefers.
All OSDenim brand items are handmade by SachFB, with passion and meticulous care. Each model is therefore unique. Via his website, the designer currently offers 3 styles of Levi’s 501 jeans and 6 variations of plaid shirts.
The ‘OSDenim’s Asian Story’ jeans celebrate the New Year of the Dragon. Black in color, these pants feature a White multi-patchword, with motifs and embroidery of a dragon, the Ying-Yang symbol, a tree and clouds. It takes around 30 hours to design a single model.
The ‘Couleurs Multi OSDenim’ jeans appear in a blue colorway and are adorned with numerous embroideries of the brand’s logo or stitching in a variety of bright colors : pink, purple, orange, yellow, brown or blue. Inserts in the shape of bandana pieces are also added to the legs. It takes around 40 hours to design a single model.
The ‘OSDenim Multi Patchwork’ jeans opt for a faded blue base and a patchwork of denim, tartan and lace in earthy hues. These yokes feature a variety of floral motifs or checks. Flowers are also formed in combinations of different colored denim pieces. It takes around 50 hours to design a single model.
The reimagined shirts are offered in ‘Master 3 Piece Flannel OSDenim’ for size S/M and ‘Master 4 Piece Flannel OSDenim’ for size M/L. The 1st option is available in 4 colorways : ‘Black/Yellow’, ‘Red/Navy Blue’, ‘Black/Off White/Bordeaux’ and ‘Blue/Red-Black-Yellow’, and the 2nd in 2 colorways : ‘Light Blue/Light Brown-Black’ and ‘Khaki Green/Yellow/Light Blue-Red’.
These shirts are made from pieces and strips of various check shirt patterns. It takes around 10 hours to design a single model.
