Through its high quality sneakers, the prestigious German brand KangaROOS honors the values of craftsmanship but also strives to support important causes. After presenting an Ultimate MiG « Veteran Make Love, Not War » in September 2019 celebrating the 50th anniversary of the emblematic Woodstock Festival, the German label wants to pay tribute to the United Nations and the desire for world peace. An Ultimate MiG named « Veteran Desert » is unveiled today.

Like all the brand’s « Made in Germany » models, this iteration is handcrafted in Münchweiler. This limited edition shoe is intended to draw attention to the absolute necessity of peaceful interactions between people. It’s inspired by the uniforms of UN soldiers, combined with colors reminiscent of the landscapes of conflict zones. The sneaker consists of a sand-colored cotton upper with brown and green patterns, the shape of which refers to military uniforms. The overlays on the mudguard, toe, laceguard and heel are in sand suede. To pay homage to the UN, the typical blue color of the UN is found on different parts of the shoe such as the laces, the side logo, the inner lining and the recyclable, antibacterial and breathable insole embellished with the psychedelic inscription « Make Love Not War ». This nice touch of contrast is complemented by a « blue helmet » logo on the heel. A blue lace dubrae with a discreet black « happy » smiley completes the design. The whole is based on a sand-colored midsole with DYNACOIL’s signature technology, combined with a blue rubber outsole.
This KANGAROOS Ultimate MiG « Veteran Desert » will be released on UN Day (the anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945), October 24, 2020 on the KangaROOS website and at selected retailers such as 43einhalb.com, Monox or Hanon, where registration for the raffle is now open.
