Eames x Reebok Club C « Dot Pattern & Composition Pack »

The sneaker market is very fashionable at the moment, so much so that it interests brands that are rather distant from this world. From Ben and Jerry’s ice cream to the fashion houses Gucci and Dior (articles available on this site), a great number of universes express themselves on cult silhouettes. Today, it’s the turn of the legendary design house EAMES Office to unveil its next collaboration with the brand REEBOK.

Eames Office is a company that began in the 1940s with the marriage of American designer-architect and filmmaker Charles Eames and his wife Ray, a painter. According to Charles Eames, the mission of the Eames Office is « to produce the best for the most people at the lowest cost ». The furniture designed by the agency is popular with the new American middle class of the post-war period, which wants functional, inexpensive and with pleasant lines.

Now run by the third generation of the Eames family, the design studio continues to innovate and delight its followers with unique collections and exclusive collabs. In the summer of 2021, the Eames x Reebok Club C « Monotone Pack » became the first ever shoe line developed in partnership and authorized by the Eames Office.

For this new release, the 2 partners pay tribute to the Eames couple’s mastery of form and color through 2 exclusive versions of the Club C silhouette.

The Club C « Dot Pattern » is inspired by an Eames textile print, considered but not submitted to the 1947 MoMA competition for printed fabrics. The all-beige canvas shoe is embellished with the black « Dot Pattern » of dots connected by lines in a calibrated proportion and carefully calculated distances. The EAMES branding replaces the usual Reebok on the side window and the Reebok branding is retained on the black tongue tag above « Eames Office ».

The Club C « Composition » pays homage to the eponymous painting created by Ray Eames in 1939. The abstract style of the work is transferred to this special model, with indeterminate geometric shapes covering the upper. They appear in a combination of beige, grey, blue, green and brick red tones. The artist’s signature is embroidered in white on the quarter panel and the Reebok branding stands out only on the heel. An all white sole completes the design.

These 2 exclusive pairs will be delivered in special boxes, reworked to also evoke works of art to collect.

The Eames x Reebok Club C « Dot Pattern & Composition » will be released exclusively on March 17, 2022 on the design house’s website eamesoffice.com, before a wider release on March 18, 2022, at selected retailers and on reebok.com, priced at $120 per iteration.
