On the first day of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, what better way to talk about soccer ?
As part of its long term partnership, NEW BALANCE worked with STONE ISLAND to design a limited collection including a soccer shoe, the Furon V7, a jersey-shorts-sock set, as well as a pre and post match silhouette, the 574 Legacy.
This collection was unveiled last October by British rapper Dave at the Santan Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s now officially presented by Chelsea star Raheem Sterling. The English player will wear these collaborative shoes during the World Cup in Qatar.
The Stone Island x New Balance Furon v7 is the latest evolution of the equipment manufacturer. It’s a soccer shoe focused on performance and comfort. With Stone Island’s fashionable touch, it’s dressed in the brand’s « In Motion » camouflage pattern. This pair features a Hypoknit upper with a mesh inner lining and black side offset lacing. The NB logo is emblazoned in white and oversized on the other side of the foot, and the heel features Stone Island’s orange Compass patch. A lightweight nylon outsole optimized for firm ground finalizes the design.
The soccer kit includes a jersey and shorts featuring the « in Motion » camo print used on the Furon v7. These pieces are made from 100% recycled polyester. To affirm the collab, they include the logos of the 2 brands and the jersey is adorned with the branding STONE ISLAND on the chest. The pair of socks breaks the camo style with its solid black color.
The NB 574 Legacy collaborative completes the collection. Stone Island has put its style on this iconic 1988 runner. It sports a military inspired look with a grey/khaki color blocking. The grey mesh base is complemented by kakhi suede overlays. To affirm the design, the side N logo, heel tab and heel clip are presented in grey. The inner lining appears in off-white and the tongue features Stone Island’s famous Compass logo. The whole is based on a white midsole with off-white and grey parts under the heel, and a black outsole.
The Stone Island x New Balance Limited Collection will be released in 2 parts. The dedicated soccer items, the Furon v7s and the kit, will be available starting November 21, 2022 on the fashion brand’s website stoneisland.com.
