Equipment manufacturer Reebok presents a new collection featuring animated film stars. After the large pack « Despicable Me » (articles available on this site), the Boston-based brand has partnered with production company DreamWorks to celebrate the fourth installment of the Kun Fu Panda franchise.
The pack includes 3 pairs : the popular Instapump Fury and the timeless Club C in 2 colorways.
The Instapump Fury pays tribute to the main character, Po Ping the panda. It’s composed of an upper alternating white and black with a beige complement to resemble Po’s fur. We find Kun Fu Panda graphics on the inflation buttons and printed on the black insoles. The design is completed by the Reebok vector logo, as well as Kun Fu Panda embroidery and Chinese inscriptions in Tan color on the heel. Two heel and tongue straps and a beige, black and caramel sole complete the look.
The two Club C iterations have opposite aesthetics.
One features a Sail leather upper with subtle details paying homage to the animated film Kun Fu Panda : the faces of the main characters and Chinese inscriptions stand out very discreetly on the upper. We find the embroidered brandings on the tongue. They are identical to those adorning the heels of the Instapump Fury, the vector logo, as well as the Kun Fu Panda name and the Japanese tan and caramel-colored inscriptions. A multicolored graphic lining and an insole covered with the characters from the film add a nice touch of contrast to the design. The whole is based on a Sail midsole and a rubber outsole.
The other Club C transposes on its vamp the multiple colors and multicolored graphics adorning the inner lining of the previous iteration. It’s constructed in a mix of materials such as suede, canvas, corduroy and burlap. The tongues are adorned with co-branding in the same aesthetic as the other models in this pack, while a Reebok plate sewn on the side panels adds an extra touch of originality to this pair. A striped inner lining, a black insole with colorful badge-style prints and brown heels with no branding details complete the look. The finishing touch is brought by an off-white midsole combined with a black outsole.
The Kung Fu Panda x Reebok collection, including an Instapump Fury and two Club Cs, will be released on January 15, 2021 at selected retailers and on reebok.com.
