The pioneering Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape has once again teamed up with the legendary Levi’s brand to offer us a new collection for the Spring/Summer 2021 season. For this 3rd collaborative project, the two partners emphasized exclusivity in a playful spirit.
This new collection includes a revisited range of Levi’s Classic pieces.
It consists of denim items : 5 sets of Trucker jackets and 501’93s jeans, as well as a 6-panel cap, a patchwork Trucker jacket and a patchwork jacket (combining the designs of the 5 versions). These pieces are adorned with different colors and patterns, including the emblematic BAPE camo print. We also find the symbols of two signs, the Apehead logo and the mythical Levi’s red mini label.
The playful and exclusive spirit of this collection is based on the distribution of the jacket/jean sets. Each colorway will be launched in a particular territory. The camo red version will be released in Europe, the camo green in the United States, the camo blue in Asia and the 2 sets in shade of blue, whose camo patterns are delicately embroidered with camel thread, will only be released in Japan. The trick is that the Trucker jacket can be divided into two parts by a zip along the entire back. Thus, the different world patterns can be zipped togheter to create a unique and playful piece. As a little bonus, if you already own Tracker jackets from previous BAPE x Levi’s collaborations, you will be able to combine them with these new iterations. This can result in a total of 70 different combinations !
To complete this collection, cotton pieces and accessories have been added. A short-sleeved t-shirt, available in black or white, is proposed to us. It features co-branding on the chest detail and presents the same logos in a larger format on the back. We also discover a black bandanawith white patterns specially designed for the occasion and be@rbrick dressed in these new denim outfits.
The Bape x Levi’s collection will be released in a limited edition on January 23, 2021 on bape.com and at select Levi’s retailers. The jacket will cost 220$, the jeans 135$, the shirt 180$, the cap 70$ and the t-shirt 55$. Good luck !
