Just like the Germans of KangaROOS (article available HERE), the iconic Japanese brand BAPE celebrates the Chinese New Year 2022 with a special sneaker creation. To honor the Year of the Tiger, the ROAD STA and SK8 STA silhouettes have been reworked.
The 2 emblematic pairs of the 2000s are adorned with an evocative pattern Camo Tiger Stripes exclusive, in a different dosage.
The ROAD STA features a perforated toe box and a quarter panel in white canvas. This base is enhanced by brown and black camo tiger stripes inserts. They are arranged at the mudguard, laceguard, collar and heel. To add a touch of elegance to the pair, the famous shooting star logo on the sides of the foot, the heel tab, the heel clip, the upper eyelets, laces and outsole are dressed in black. The branding is embroidered in light brown on the white tongue and the inner lining appears in dark brown. To finalize the look, the midsole featuring the iconic air bubble is presented in off-white.
The SK8 STA consists of an all Camo Tiger Stripes upper. The overlays are finished in brown, matching the 93 badge on the side heel, tongue tag and laces. For an added touch of boldness, the legendary shooting star logo in grained leather and tongue and heel branding are presented in orange. The tongue, inner lining, heel tab and midsole appear in cream. A rubber outsole harmoniously completes the design.
The BAPE ROADSTA & SKATESTA CNY 2022 will be released on January 28, 2022 online at bape.com and on January 29, 2022 at BAPE stores in Japan. Don’t sleep !
