The Japanese shop ATMOS continues its momentum of eye-catching projects. After presenting us with the Reebok Classic Leather triple collaborative which will be available in a few days, Koji and his team are realizing a dream : creating t-shirts in partnership with the Michael Jackson estate.
Who is more famous in the world than Michael Jackson ? Nobody !
The « King of Pop » revolutionized his era and influenced the following generations. His style and talent are still held up as an example today. Michael Jackson continues to influence the music, dance and street scenes. He’s also the most successful artist of all time.
Michael Jackson has left a rich legacy that Atmos will showcase through an exclusive collaboration.
This special collection includes 3 styles of short sleeve t-shirts in white or black. Each piece features a tribute print on the front and the words « King of Pop » on the back. The atmos logo is printed on the left sleeve to symbolize that it’s a collaborative piece.
The 1st style of tee is a photo of the cover of the THRILLER album. This musical work still holds the record of « the best selling album in the history of mankind » since its release in 1982.
The 2nd one refers to the design of the album BAD, the next album released in 1987. With more than 40 million copies sold, it is one of the best-selling albums in the world and the one with the most number 1 hits.
The 3rd presents an image of Michael Jackson from the legendary video clip of the song « Thriller ». We see the artist wearing the famous red and black leather jacket.
To commemorate this collab, an « MJ Night » in honor of the « King of Pop » was held at the Atmos Pink Flagship Harajuku store on Friday, August 19, 2022.
This event was hosted by world-renowned dancer Kento Mori, who also serves as a model for the presentation of these collaborative items. He was accompanied by dancers active in Japan, including ASAHII. The musical atmosphere was provided by DJ CHIBICHAEL, a close friend of Kento Mori.
This event will also take place at shop atmos pink Shinsaibashi on the day of the launch !
The ATMOS x Michael Jackson collection is available since August 27, 2022 in stores and online at atmos-tokyo.com. Prices are set at $48 (¥6600) per t-shirt. Don’t sleep !
