The famous Japanese shop ATMOS and the German giant adidas have offered us very nice collaborative pairs throughout this year 2020 (various articles available on this site). This December, the two strong partners are once again teaming up and presenting us with a second version of the NMD R1 tricolor V2 named « TORICO ».
This new version resembles the initial iteration of 2019 but has some subtle distinctive details.
The shoe features a black Primeknit upper, here with reflective yarn additions to modernize the design. The imposing adidas branding on the upper and the emblematic adidas lateral 3-stripes appear in white. The slogan « The Brand with 3 stripes » is inscribed in tricolor : red, white and blue and in English, Korean, Thai and Japanese (white) respectively, to refer to the countries where the Atmos shops are located. The heel counters are mismatched, red for the left foot and blue for the right foot, and below each one, on the white midsole, GPS coordinates are written in black. They correspond to the latitude and longitude of the first Atmos shop in Tokyo, paying homage to the place where it all began and then spread beyond the Japanese borders. Reflective two-tone laces with red or blue aglets, black lining and the adidas logo discreetly affixed to the tongue, complete the meticulous design. The whole is based on a high-performance white midsole with Boost technology with black clips, combined with a thin black outsole.
The adidas Atmos x adidas Originals NMD R1 « TORICO » V2 will be available in Atmos stores on December 5, 2020 via a raffle now open on atmos-tokyo.com. Sizesrun EU 36 to EU 46 and for a price of 130€.
