Asics GEL-Preleus V3

After the bracing success of its latest collaboration with the AWAKE NY brand, Japanese equipment manufacturer Asics is rehighlightening its 2001 retro runner silhouette, the GEL-Preleus V3. It’s available in 5 eye-catching colorways.

This performance running shoe, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is the work of a designer duo : Noriyuki Murai, the designer of the upper, and Toshikazu Kayano who imagined the sole. It’s reissued in modern lifestyle colorways : Camel Beige Black, Hazard Blue Green, Aizuri Blue/Black, Black/Pure Gold and a timeless Black/Black.

This aggressively shaped sneaker consists of a mesh upper with contrasting leather overlays, complemented by heat-sealed inserts. This superimposed aspect brings an emblematic retro design, referring to the aesthetics of the 2000s, which are very much in vogue at the moment. The overlays surrounding the lower part of the foot adopt a wavy movement, which harmonizes with the colorful wavy lines of the white midsole. This particular design is inspired by the fluid movement of amoebas (microorganisms that move and feed on temporary limbs). To finalize the look, Asics brandings appear on the tongue, side panels and heel, laces are color-matched to the vamp and outsole, and Tigers Stripes are dressed in black on all 5 colorways.

The Asics GEL-Preleus V3, available in 5 colorways, is now available at selected retailers and on asics.com for 110€ per pair.
