Back on the sneaker scene by Teddy Santis and his brand ALD in 2020, the famous NEW BALANCE 550 is presented in a brand new makeup. After having presented a special version « Valentine’s Day 2023 » (article available HERE), the Boston-based manufacturer unveils a collaborative 550 imagined with the Chinese streetwear brand ANB.
The 2 partners have already worked together on the 327, 212 and CT300 silhouettes with the collection name « In It For the Long Run » and the main color, navy blue.
This collaborative NB 550 has been teased in 2 colorways, one staying in the theme seen before, and the other moving away from it a little.
The 1st appears in navy blue with a mesh base enhanced by suede overlays. The side N logo is dressed in tone on tone and small white inserts like the top of the tongue, the laces and the area under the ankle add a touch of contrast. An off-white midsole and a light blue outsole add the finishing touch.
The 2nd version features only navy blue on small inserts : the collar, the inner lining and the NB logo on the side mudguard. For the rest of the construction, the shoe is presented in smooth and perforated white leather. The tongue branding and the small 550 on the laceguard appear in gold and add character to the pair. The whole is based on the same sole as the navy blue, off-white and sky blue version.
On both colorways, the collab is affirmed by a co-branding affixed to the insole.
