The Japanese streetwear brand A BATHING APE continues to honor its famous silhouette which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020, the BAPESTA . After announcing the re-release of an OG trio (article available HERE), BAPE is partnering with artists to bring us special and previously unseen iterations. Today, it’s the New York graffiti legend STASH that unveils his version of the very popular BAPESTA.
Stash is a long-time collaborator of the iconic streetwear brand. He began to bring his personal touch to many textile pieces and accessories in the 90s. However, this BAPESTA is the first shoe of the Japanese label revisited by the street artist.
The sneaker is dressed in the emblematic blue shade of the graffiti artist. It consists of a polyurethane leather upper coated with SympaTex to make it waterproof. The iconic BAPE star adorns the side panels and the Stash tag signature appears embroidered in tone-on-tone on the heel, alongside the grey BAPE brand. The brandings are also coupled on the navy blue tongue label and the insole, which features a splash print of paint in a shade of blue. To complete the design, we discover a metallic dubrae inserted into classic white flat laces. An equally white sole completes the look.
The A BATHING APE x Stash BAPESTA will be released on February 13, 2021 in BAPE stores and online on bape.com, for a price around 220€.
