La marque EWING ATHLETICS, qui symbolise l’héritage du basket-ball, s’est associée pour la toute première fois avec une icone de la musique latine : YANDEL. Cette collab historique est basée sur la silhouette de l’emblématique ‘Rogue’ et se présente comme une fusion entre l’héritage du basket-ball et la créativité de l’artiste musical.
A propos de cette toute 1ère collab, Yandel a déclaré : « Je suis un grand fan et collectionneur de baskets, et un grand fan de la légende des NY Knicks et membre du Temple de la renommée de la NBA, Patrick Ewing. Maintenant, j’ai ma propre chaussure en collaboration avec l’une des étoiles brillantes du monde du sport. C’est incroyable de lancer la nouvelle année en présentant la Ewing x Yandel Rogue, car la chaussure fêtera également son 30e anniversaire en 2024. »
Le légendaire Pat Ewing a également commenté : « Pour la première fois dans l’histoire de notre marque, nous collaborons avec un artiste latino, c’est donc tout à fait normal que nous collaborions avec une légende ».
Cette Yandel x Ewing Athletics Rogue se présente dans une association de gris neutre, blanc et turquoise. Un coloris qui n’est pas sans rappeler la légendaire bball futuriste portée par Marty McFly dans la célèbre trilogie « Retour Vers Le Futur », la Nike Mag.
La chaussure se compose d’un upper en nubuck gris avec des superpositions blanches également en nubuck, complété par des accents turquoise – qui ajoutent du dynamisme et de l’audace – au niveau des détails de branding Ewing Athletics sur le strap de maintien et le talon, ainsi que sur les motifs ornant les côtés de la midsole grise et sur la semelle extérieure semi-translucide. L’originalité de la paire repose aussi sur les panneaux blancs réfléchissants et le dessous de l’outsole glow-in-the-dark. Pour affirmer la collab, le logo de Yandel se distingue sur l’arrière du talon au-dessous du légendaire numéro ’33’ de Pat Ewing.
Chaque paire sera livrée dans une box spéciale co-brandée et accompagnée d’une bande dessinée anglaise et espagnole racontant l’histoire de la collaboration. Pour célébrer l’héritage portoricain de Yandel, le papier de soie à l’intérieur de la boîte arbore le print de son drapeau national.

This Yandel x Ewing Athletics Rogue comes in a combination of neutral grey, white and teal. A color scheme reminiscent of the legendary futuristic bball worn by Marty McFly in the famous « Back to the Future » trilogy, the Nike Mag.
The shoe consists of a grey nubuck upper with white overlays also in nubuck, complemented by turquoise accents – which add dynamism and boldness – at the Ewing Athletics branding details on the support strap and heel, as well as on the patterns adorning the sides of the grey midsole and on semi-translucent outsole. The pair’s originality also lies in the reflective white panels and the glow-in-the-dark underside of the outsole. To affirm the collab, the Yandel logo stands out on the back of the heel below Pat Ewing’s legendary number ’33’.
Each pair will be delivered in a special co-branded box, accompanied by an English and Spanish comic strip telling the story of the collaboration. To celebrate Yandel’s Puerto Rican heritage, the tissue paper inside the box features his national flag.
