La série animée américaine, The Simpsons, est l’une des plus influentes et des plus regardées à travers le monde. Homer, le père de famille, est un personnage clé de ce show télévisée et s’est vu détourné en ‘même’ et ‘GIF’ sur internet à plusieurs reprises. Pour mettre à l’honneur le patriarche, ADIDAS nous présente une Stan Smith réinterprétée.
Dévoilée tout d’abord il y a presqu’un an, cette version exclusive apparaît aujourd’hui sous sa forme officielle et obtient une date de sortie.
Pour le design, la team ADIDAS s’est inspirée d’un ‘GIF’ hyper populaire tiré de l’épisode 16 de la saison 5 « Homer Loves Flanders », lorsque le père de Bart et Lisa se fond discrètement dans les buissons après que le fameux voisin ‘relou’ Flanders décline l’invitation de passer la journée ensemble. Ce moment légendaire est illustré sur le heel tab de la Stan Smith : le personnage d’Homer brodé se dissimule sous un épais matériau vert en chenille imitant le buisson. Pour le reste de la construction, cette paire spéciale ressemble fortement à la version OG. Elle se compose d’un upper en cuir blanc lisse, avec des œillets métalliques teintés en blanc et une semelle au look vintage de couleur blanc vieilli. Au niveau du quarter panel, ‘Homer Simpson’ apposé à la feuille d’or remplace l’habituel ‘Stan Smith’ et un portrait d’Homer se joint au branding ADIDAS de languette.

First unveiled almost a year ago, this exclusive version now appears in official form and gets a release date.
For the design, the ADIDAS team drew inspiration from a hyper-popular ‘GIF’ from episode 16 of season 5 « Homer Loves Flanders », when Bart and Lisa’s father discreetly melts into the bushes after the notoriously boring neighbor Flanders declines the invitation to spend the day together. This legendary moment is illustrated on the heel tab of the Stan Smith : Homer’s embroidered character is hidden beneath a thick green chenille material imitating the bush. As for the rest of the construction, this special pair bears a strong resemblance to the OG version. It consists of a smooth white leather upper, with white-tinted metal eyelets and a vintage-look sole in aged white. On the quarter panel, gold-leafed ‘Homer Simpson’ replaces the usual ‘Stan Smith’, and a portrait of Homer joins the ADIDAS tongue branding.
