Une semaine après la sortie de la Nike AM1 x Atmos à Toulouse (Article dispo ICI), le retailer Anglais Size? nous proposait ce samedi 24 Mars l’un des modèles les plus attendu de cette année 2018: la Nike Air Max 1/97 x Sean Wotherspoon.
Ce modèle hybride proposé par nike est le fruit d’une collaboration avec le collectionneur de sneakers Sean Wotherspoon. Ce dernier également propriétaire du célèbre shop Round Two aux Etats-Unis a été le grand gagnant du “Vote forward” organisé lors du Air Max Day 2017.
Cette 97/1 se compose d’un upper d’Air Max 97 tout en velours côtelé de différents coloris. L’ensemble repose sur une semelle de Air Max 1.
Il est 8h45 quand les premiers sneakers addict et resellers arrivent sur place. Une trentaine de personnes se retrouvent devant le magasin à 9h00 pour le début des hostilités prévu pour 9h15. La pluie et surtout le fait que le shop donne la possibilité aux inscrits de ne pas être présent pour le tirage au sort a certainement joué sur le nombre de personnes présentes devant le magasin. En effet, on a entre 300 et 400 inscrits, et comme dit plus haut, nous sommes une trentaine devant le magasin.
Début des hostilités à 9h20. On commence par ordre croissant de tailles et seul un nombre infime de personnes présentes sur place gagnent leur paire. Le tirage se déroule dans une bonne ambiance et sans aucune contestations possibles. Tout se fait dans la transparence et les absents sont tous prévenus de leur victoire par téléphone.
Personnellement, je n’ai malheureusement pas été tiré au sort. Il est à noter qu’à 13h00, heure limite pour pouvoir récupérer sa paire, un nouveau tirage au sort a été effectué par l’équipe de Size? (trois paires n’ayant pas été récupérées). Trois chanceux ont pu bénéficier de ces désistements surprises.

This hybrid model offered by nike is the result of a collaboration with sneaker collector Sean Wotherspoon. The latter also owner of the famous Round Two shop in USA was the big winner of the “Vote forward” organized during the Air Max Day 2017.
This 97/1 is composed of an upper of Air Max 97 all in corduroy of different colors. The set is based on a sole of Air Max 1.
It’s 8:45 am when the first sneakers addict and resellers arrive on the spot. About thirty people are in front of the store at 9:00 for the start of hostilities scheduled for 9:15. The rain and especially the fact that the shop gives the opportunity to registered not to be present for the draw certainly played on the number of people in front of the store. Indeed, we have between 300 and 400 registered, and as said above, we are thirty in front of the store.
Start of hostilities at 9:20. We start in ascending order of size and only a tiny number of people present on the spot earn their pair. The draw takes place in a good atmosphere and without any possible disputes. Everything is done transparently and the absentees are all warned of their victory over the phone.
Personally, unfortunately I didn’t win the draw. It should be noted that at 13:00, time limit to recover his pair, a new draw was made by the team Size? (three pairs were not recovered). Three lucky people were able to benefit from these surprise cancellations.
