La division SB de Nike continue d’inviter des skateshops à revisiter sa fameuse silhouette phare, la Dunk Low. Après la boutique de San Francisco FTC (article disponible ICI), c’est au tour de l’emblématique magasin FAMILIA de dévoiler sa paire réinterprétée.
En 2015, le célèbre skateshop situé à Minneapolis avait fêté ses 10 ans d’existence avec une FAMILIA x Nike SB Dunk High honorant le court métrage d’animation Disney de 1958 : Paul Bunyan et Babe le Blue Ox.
Pour ce nouveau projet collaboratif basée sur la version Low, exit la couleur bleue et les dessins animés. La chaussure rend hommage à la célèbre salle de spectacle locale « First Avenue » qui a fêté ses 50 ans en 2020. Selon la rumeur, cette collab aurait dû sortir l’année dernière pour célébrer cet anniversaire, mais la crise sanitaire mondiale du COVID-19 a contrarié les plans.
S’inspirant de l’architecture et de l’ambiance de ce lieu mythique, la chaussure se compose d’un upper en cuir noir avec un motif de brique sur le talon latéral et un empiècement en daim en ton sur ton sur le panneau central. Les fameuses étoiles blanches qui recouvrent les mur extérieurs de la salle de spectacle se retrouvent sur les perforations de la toe box, et une étoile est brodé sur le talon latéral. Pour harmoniser le design, l’emblématique Swoosh est présenté en cuir blanc d’un côté et noir de l’autre. Ce logo iconique et le heel tab sont agrémentés de 3M réfléchissant afin de rappeler l’ambiance nocturne et festive du « First Avenue ». L’insole comporte un motif en damier noir et blanc correspondant au sol de cette salle de spectacle, ainsi que le print du ticket du tout premier concert qui a eu lieu le 3 avril 1970. Un joli clin d’œil au talentueux musicien PRINCE se retrouve au niveau des lacets de couleur purple. Bien que le défunt artiste n’est au départ aucun lien direct avec « First Avenue », il a rendu ce lieu célèbre dans le monde entier grâce à son film PURPLE RAIN, dont l’action s’y déroulait.

In 2015, the famous skateshop located in Minneapolis had celebrated its 10 years of existence with a FAMILIA x Nike SB Dunk High honoring the 1958 Disney animated short film : Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox.
For this new collaborative project based on the Low version, exit the blue color and the cartoons. The shoe pays homage to the famous local venue « First Avenue » which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2020. According to rumors, this collab should have been released last year to celebrate this anniversary, but the global health crisis of COVID-19 thwarted the plans.
Inspired by the architecture and atmosphere of this mythical place, the shoe consists of a black leather upper with a brick pattern on the side heel and a tonal suede insert on the center panel. The famous white stars that cover the outer walls of the showroom are found on the perforations of the toe box, and a star is embroidered on the side heel. To match the design, the iconic Swoosh is presented in white leather on one side and black on the other. This iconic logo and the heel tab are embellished with reflective 3M to recall the nighttime and festive atmosphere of « First Avenue ». The insole features a black and white checkerboard pattern corresponding to the floor of this venue, as well as the ticket print of the very first concert that took place on April 3, 1970. A nice nod to the talented musician PRINCE is found in the purple laces. Although the late artist had no direct connection to « First Avenue », he made the venue world famous with his movie PURPLE RAIN, which was set there.
The FAMILIA x Nike SB Dunk Low « First Avenue » is expected to be released soon in selected skateshops worldwide and on nike.com. For the latest details, stay tuned !
