FTC x Nike SB Dunk Low

The SB division of Nike continues to partner with skateshops to present us very personal Dunks. After the hyper worked High version of the brothers of Carpet Company and the audacious Low iteration elaborated with Stingwater (articles available on this site), it’s the turn of the famous skateshop of San Francisco FTC to unveil its collaborative Dunk Low.

FTC Skateboarding is a reference in the skateboarding world. In 1986, it was just a small collection of skateboarding equipment in the back of the ski and tennis store of the founder’s father, Kent Uyehara. Popular with skateboarders and gaining a reputation as one of the epicenters of true skate culture, FTC opened its first store in 1994 in San Francisco. Over the years, the brand has grown beyond the confines of the original store and has become known for its authentic and popular innovation in skateboarding, apparel, design, video, art and music. In addition to its original store, FTC is now located in 4 other cities around the world : Tokyo, Barcelona, Nagoya and Osaka. Launched almost 30 years ago, FTC has grown while staying true to its original vision : quality, authentic pieces born from the heart and soul of the street.

In 2013, Nike SB and FTC released a Dunk Low Pro named « Finally » celebrating the 20th anniversary of the eponymous skate video that propelled FTC to international fame. The pair was a big hit and still sells for over 450$ on online marketplaces.

According to the well-informed account @solebyjc, this revisited SB Dunk Low consists of a sky blue suede base, embellished with white leather overlays featuring engraved cross-shaped patterns reminiscent of a wire mesh. The look is completed by a silver side Swoosh and bright yellow elements like the inner lining, the inner side of the tongue and the heel tab. On the latter, we find the FTC logo embroidered in sky blue thread. The co-branding seems to be applied in navy blue color on the sky blue tongue. The whole is based on a white midsole and a blue icy outsole.

The FTC x Nike SB Dunk Low will be released in the coming months at select skateshops and on nike.com. More details coming soon, stay tuned !
