La fameux silhouette retro ASICS EX 89 fait un retour remarqué dans le sneaker game. Après avoir été ressorti des archives par Ronnie Fieg, le designer-fondateur de KITH, ce modèle a servi de base à d’intéressantes collaborations. La dernière en date est un projet exclusif avec FOXTROT UNIFORM.
FOXTROT UNIFORM est né de l’amour pour les sneakers vintage. Basée à Singapour, cette société rend possible la customisation de paires neuves pour leur donner un look néo-vintage. A l’inverse, elle est aussi spécialisée dans le rafraichissement d’anciens modèles. FOXTROT UNIFORM est réputé pour son offre d’accessoires de chaussures faisant référence à de véritables archives fonctionnelles, tels que la très large gamme de lacets spéciaux.
Revisitée par FOXTROT UNIFORM, la ASICS EX 89 adopte un look logiquement vintage.
Elle se compose d’une empeigne en cuir blanc cassé, avec des superpositions assorties. La languette, les lacets, le heel tab et la doublure intérieure optent également pour cette teinte blanche vieillie. Une belle touche de contraste – qui accentue le thème vintage – est apportée par les Tigers Stripes latérales en daim gris. Pour affirmer la collab, l’insole se pare du logo gris FOXTROT UNIFORM et la fenêtre à l’arrière du talon apparaît en cuir jauni craquelé et ornée de la mention ‘Yo Fox !’ brodée en ton sur ton. Des détails subtiles imitant des traces de colle anciennes et séchées et une semelle blanc cassé matchant avec l’empeigne apportent la touche finale au design.
La paire sera livrée dans une box spéciale, de couleur jaune avec un co-branding noir.

After being unearthed from the archives by Ronnie Fieg, founding designer of KITH, this model has served as the basis for some interesting collaborations. The latest is an exclusive project with FOXTROT UNIFORM.
FOXTROT UNIFORM was born out of a love for vintage sneakers. Based in Singapore, this company makes it possible to customize new pairs to give them a neo-vintage look. Conversely, it also specializes in refreshing old models. FOXTROT UNIFORM is renowned for its range of shoe accessories based on genuine functional archives, such as the extensive range of special laces.
Revisited by FOXTROT UNIFORM, the ASICS EX 89 adopts a logically vintage look.
It consists an off-white leather upper with matching overlays. The tongue, laces, heel tab and inner lining also opt for this aged white hue. A nice touch of contrast – accentuating the vintage theme – is provided by the side Tigers Stripes in grey suede. To affirm the collab, the insole is adorned with the gray FOXTROT UNIFORM logo and the window at the back of the heel appears in cracked yellowed leather and adorned with the words ‘Yo Fox!’ embroidered in tone-on-tone. Subtle detailing imitating dried traces of old glue and an off-white sole matching the upper add the final touch to the design.
The pair will be delivered in a special yellow box with black co-branding.
