Pour célébrer la nouvelle année chinoise, plusieurs marques emblématiques ont imaginé des produits spéciaux. Après notamment le label KangaROOS, c’est au tour de SAUCONY de nous présenter sa sneaker sur le thème de l’année du Dragon.
Le talentueux designer de chez SAUCONY, Joshua Fraser aka @kodowar sur Instagram, a choisi la populaire silhouette de la Grid Shadow 2 pour mettre à l’honneur la nouvelle année chinoise.
Ce modèle rétro chic est doté d’excellentes performances, tout en alliant style intemporel et fonctionnalité moderne.
Evoquant l’année du Dragon, la version spéciale s’habille de teintes en nuances de rouge, avec des touches orange, jaune or et marron chocolat. Riche en détails et fabriquée à partir de matériaux subtilement retravaillés, cette paire rend également hommage à l’artisanat chinois et au savoir-faire haut de gamme de Saucony.
La SAUCONY Grid Shadow 2 « Year of the Dragon » se compose d’une empeigne combinant du cuir, nubuck et daim de qualité supérieure, dont certains empiècements sont ornés de perforations ou d’un motif embossé qui souligne l’élégance du design. Pour affirmer le thème, la languette apparaît minutieusement ornée d’un motif rouge/or ainsi que d’une étiquette en cuir comportant un branding spécial en caractère chinois (le sceau en écriture ancienne). Le talon a aussi été réimaginé : il arbore une fenêtre en snakeskin (ou peau de dragon!) multicolore qui ajoute du cachet au modèle. L’année 2024 embossée sur la face interne du tag de languette et printée sur l’insole, une midsole blanc cassé avec un insert rouge à l’arrière du talon, ainsi qu’une outsole marron chocolat finalisent harmonieusement le look.

Evoking the Year of the Dragon, the special version comes in shades of red, with touches of orange, golden yellow and chocolate brown. Rich in detail and crafted from subtly reworked materials, this pair also pays tribute to Chinese craftsmanship and Saucony’s high-end savoir-faire.
The SAUCONY Grid Shadow 2 « Year of the Dragon » consists of an upper combining high-quality leather, nubuck and suede, some of whose inserts are adorned with perforations or an embossed pattern that underline the elegance of the design. To affirm the theme, the tongue appears meticulously adorned with a red/gold motif and a leather label featuring special branding in Chinese characters (the ancient seal script). The heel has also been re-imagined : it features a multicolored snakeskin window that adds cachet to the model. The year 2024 embossed on the inside of the tongue tag and printed on the insole, an off-white midsole with a red insert on the back of the heel, and a chocolate brown outsole harmoniously complete the look.
