En plus de rééditer des paires iconiques comme la R1100 qui continue de fêter ses 30 ans (article disponible ICI), la marque LE COQ SPORTIF dévoile une nouvelle collab accrocheuse. Pour son prochain opus, le légendaire label français s’est associé à la boutique italienne SNEAKERS76 afin qu’elle apporte sa touche à la silhouette de la R800.
Nommée « The Islands », cette nouvelle collab fait suite à la fameuse R1000 « The Guardian of the Sea » sortie en 2016 pour célébrer les 10 ans d’existence du magasin italien.
Les 2 partenaires nous présentent aujourd’hui une R800 premium, soigneusement fabriquée et comportant des détails subtils. Elle combine le savoir-faire haut de gamme de Le Coq Sportif avec les inspirations de SNEAKERS76 tirées de son territoire du sud de l’Italie.
Le shop italien a toujours célébré ses racines à travers ses collaborations. Avec ce nouvel opus, il rend hommage à un petit archipel en face de la ville de Tarente : les îles Cheradi et plus particulièrement à San Paolo et San Pietro.
La palette de couleurs fait référence à une photo des 2 îles, avec des nuances de bleu rappelant la mer, le beige et le rose correspondant à la teinte du sable, ainsi que le bordeaux et marron cuir imitant le look des maisons typiques.
En ce qui concerne la construction, la chaussure arbore une base beige en suede micro-perforé haut de gamme avec une languette assortie. Les superpositions apparaissent en suede lisse et de couleur différente selon leur emplacement : bleu pastel sur la pointe et la zone des œillets, beige sable sur les côtés, et beige foncé/marron au niveau du talon. Pour compléter le look et accentuer le confort, les œillets supérieurs en TPU se présentent de couleur rose, tout comme le lining et la semelle intérieure en microfibre.
L’emblématique logo Le Coq Sportif est brodé en blanc sur le quarter panel et un co-branding spécial LCS x SNEAKERS76 rose et bleu orne le tag de languette. Sur cette dernière, on retrouve également le nom de chaque île mise à l’honneur par cette collaboration : San Paolo sur le pied droit et San Pietro sur le pied gauche. Afin d’assurer les meilleurs matchings, les lacets plats et blancs peuvent être remplacés par un jeu rose/blanc moucheté.
Le soin apporté aux détails, la qualité de conception et la réflexion autour du thème sont symbolisés à travers un packaging inédit. La paire est livrée dans une box en forme de vieille valise rendant hommage à tous les voyageurs. A l’intérieur, on découvre un kit d’autocollants, pouvant servir pour customiser la valise en carton, et un petit journal de bord pour conter ses escapades.

Named « The Islands », this new collab follows the famous R1000 « The Guardian of the Sea » released in 2016 to celebrate the 10 years of existence of the Italian store.
The 2 partners now present us with a premium R800, carefully crafted and featuring subtle details. It combines Le Coq Sportif’s high-end craftsmanship with SNEAKERS76’s inspirations from its southern Italian territory.
The Italian shop has always celebrated its roots through its collaborations. With this new release, it pays homage to a small archipelago in front of the city of Taranto : the Cheradi Islands and more specifically to San Paolo and San Pietro.
The color palette refers to a photo of the 2 islands, with shades of blue recalling the sea, beige and pink corresponding to the shade of the sand, as well as burgundy and brown leather imitating the look of typical houses.
In terms of construction, the shoe consists of a beige base in high-end micro-perforated suede with a matching tongue. The overlays appear in smooth suede and different colors depending on their placement : pastel blue on the toe and eyelet area, sandy beige on the sides, and dark beige/brown at the heel. To complete the look and accentuate comfort, the TPU upper eyelets come in pink, as does the microfiber lining and insole.
The iconic Le Coq Sportif logo is embroidered in white on the quarter panel and a special pink and blue LCS x SNEAKERS76 co-branding adorns the tongue tag. The tongue tag also features the name of each island featured in this collaboration : San Paolo on the right foot and San Pietro on the left foot. To ensure the best matchings, the flat and white laces can be replaced by a pink/white speckled set.
The attention to detail, the quality of the design and the thoughtfulness around the theme are symbolized through an original packaging. The pair is delivered in a box shaped like an old suitcase paying tribute to all travelers. Inside, we also discover a kit of stickers that can be used to customize the cardboard suitcase and a small logbook to tell his escapades.
