Après avoir rencontré un beau succès avec la création d’une New Balance 992 dans un coloris HIDDEN NY, l’atelier toulousain de fabrication de chaussures LE BOTTIER TOULOUSAIN (LBT) dévoile un nouveau projet accrocheur. Nico et Gaw de la team LBT Sneakers ont eu l’idée d’une collab exclusive avec leur ami SUPRAW sur la silhouette de la Air Jordan 3.
SUPRAW est un artiste-graffeur-dessinateur-designer toulousain qui a fondé sa marque de vêtements et d’accessoires, Triple Sphere. Ami de longue date du photographe multidisciplinaire Gaw, les 2 hommes ont fréquemment travaillé ensemble. Avec l’aide de Nico de LBT, l’artiste-artisan spécialisé dans la fabrication et customisation de sneakers, ils ont décidé de réinventer la fameuse Air Jordan 3.
L’idée de Gaw, Nico et Supraw était de concevoir une collaboration entre potes, sans prise de tête.
Les partenaires nous présentent une AJ3 custom déclinée en 2 coloris : Tan/Kaki et Gris/Noir. Ces versions spéciales sont inspirées de collection Triple Sphere Worker, qui est une collab Gaw/Supraw.
Supraw a mis à disposition 2 vestes (une par coloris) pour pouvoir fabriquer ces 2 Air Jordan 3. Nico les a ‘démontées’ et découpées afin qu’elles puissent servir d’empiècements de belle qualité pour habiller les sneakers.
Ces versions custom se composent d’un upper canvas et en matériau imperméable de couleur Tan ou Grise, avec des renforts de pointe et de talon Kaki ou Noir, respectivement. Pour assurer l’hommage aux pièces Triple Sphere, des détails retirés des vestes ont été ajoutés sur différentes parties du pied, comme le petit tag caché derrière le tab arrière et la poche zippée dans la languette. Une couture en zigzag, rappelant celle présente sur le pantalon de la collection Worker, apparaît sur le côté de la toe box. Pour couronner le tout, le patch de la mascotte ‘Wilfried’ a été récupéré dans l’intérieur de la veste et sert de hangtag. Les paires se parent également de détails de branding en broderie : ‘TS’ (de Triple Sphere) et le tête de ‘Wilfried’ sur l’arrière des talons, ainsi que le logo LBT sur la languette.
Les Air Jordan 3 custom LBT x SUPRAW sont 2 paires vitrines, non destinées à la vente. Une va à SUPRAW et l’autre à GAW. Les partenaires pourraient avoir d’autres projets en préparation, possiblement davantage poussés et moins limités … Restez bien connectés !
SUPRAW is an artist-graffiti artist-designer from Toulouse who founded his own clothing and accessories brand, Triple Sphere. A long-time friend of multidisciplinary photographer Gaw, the 2 men have frequently worked together. With the help of Nico of LBT, the artist-craftsman specializing in sneaker fabrication and customization, they decided to reinvent the famous Air Jordan 3.
The idea of Gaw, Nico and Supraw was to design a collaboration between buddies, with no troubles.
The partners present us with a custom AJ3 in 2 colorways : Tan/Khaki and Grey/Black. These special versions are inspired by the Triple Sphere Worker collection, a Gaw/Supraw collab.
Supraw provided 2 jackets (one for each colorway) to make these 2 Air Jordan 3s. Nico ‘disassembled’ and cut them so they could be used as high-quality inserts to dress up the sneakers.
These custom versions consist of a canvas and waterproof upper in Tan or Grey, with Khaki or Black toe and heel reinforcements, respectively. To ensure homage to the Triple Sphere pieces, details removed from the jackets have been added to various parts of the foot, such as the small tag hidden behind the back tab and the zipped pocket in the tongue. A zigzag seam, reminiscent of that on the Worker collection pants, appears on the side of the toe box. To top it all off, the ‘Wilfried’ mascot patch has been salvaged from the inside of the jacket and serves as a hangtag. The pairs also feature embroidered branding details : ‘TS’ (from Triple Sphere) and the head of ‘Wilfried’ on the back of the heels, as well as the LBT logo on the tongue.
The Air Jordan 3 custom LBT x SUPRAW are 2 showcase pairs, not intended for sale. One goes to SUPRAW and the other to GAW. The partners may have other projects in the pipeline, possibly more advanced and less limited… Stay tuned !
