L’enseigne britannique SIZE? a souhaité s’associer une nouvelle fois au géant de Beaverton, afin de nous proposer une collaboration basée sur la silhouette de la populaire Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2. Cette paire porte le nom de la célèbre rue commerçante londonienne du quartier de Soho, où se trouve le shop phare de SIZE? : « Carnaby »
Cette sneaker a été réalisée dans le cadre du 20ème anniversaire de SIZE? et rend hommage au passé coloré pop-art de Carnaby Street, un lieu d’inspiration pour des artistes comme Jimi Hendrix ou les Rolling Stones.
La silhouette, conçue par le légendaire Steven Smith, arbore une palette de couleurs audacieuses. On retrouve un upper combinant mesh blanc et matériau synthétique sur l’avant du pied, avec des superpositions en suede beige. Les panneaux latéraux se présentent de couleur bleu océan et vert menthe. On retrouve le Swoosh latéral mis en valeur par sa couleur noire et ses contours rose bonbon. Le talon, recouvert de cuir jaune moutarde, comporte l’inscription brodée « Welcomes the World », un clin d’œil au panneau installé en 1973 sur un mur de cette rue : « Carnaby Street Welcomes The World ». Sur la languette blanche, on retrouve un branding noir et rouge, et un tirant se distingue par sa couleur bleu roi. Pour compléter le design et le matching, l’ensemble repose sur une confortable semelle blanche avec une unité d’Air contenue dans une cage rose bonbon.

[:en]British retailer SIZE? has once again chosen to partner with the Beaverton giant to offer us a collaboration based on the silhouette of the popular Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2. This pair is named after the famous London shopping street in Soho district, where SIZE?’s flagship shop is located : « Carnaby ».
This sneaker was created for the 20th anniversary of SIZE? and pays tribute to the colourful pop-art past of Carnaby Street, a place of inspiration for artists such as Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones. The silhouette, designed by the legendary Steven Smith, features a bold colour palette. We find an upper combining white mesh and synthetic material on the front of the foot, with beige suede overlays. The side panels come in ocean blue and mint green. The side swoosh is highlighted by its black colour and candy-pink contours. The heel, covered in mustard yellow leather, has the embroidered inscription « Welcomes the World », a nod to the sign installed in 1973 on a wall on this street : « Carnaby Street Welcomes The World ». On the white tongue, there is black and red branding, and a tab is distinguished by its royal blue colour. To complete the design and the matching, the whole is based on a comfortable white sole with an Air unit contained in a candy-pink cage.
