Après avoir travaillé sur la StrangeLove x Nike Dunk Low sortie pour la Saint-Valentin 2020, l’artiste graphique de référence de l’univers skate, Sean Cliver, nous présente une nouvelle itération sur le thème des vacances de Noël pour finir l’année.
Sean Cliver est l’un des artistes les plus respecté dans le monde du skateboard. Immergé depuis des dizaines années dans cette industrie et culture autrefois underground, il a illustré des planches, écrit des livres et participé à plusieurs projets avec les plus grandes marques du streetwear, comme Supreme et Baker. En 2012, Cliver collaborait avec la division SB de Nike sur une mémorable Dunk High nommée « Krampus » et plus récemment, avec son empreinte StrangeLove, sur une Dunk Low StrangeLove en velours, de couleurs rose et rouge. Le chef de StrangeLove Skateboard nous propose aujourd’hui sa version personnelle.
La chaussure se compose d’un upper en cuir blanc comportant des perforations en forme de flocons de neige sur la toebox. Les superpositions apparaissent en daim bleu clair et le Swoosh latéral de couleur or brillant, clin d’œil aux emballages des cadeaux. Des lacets et un col argentés complètent le design. Le nom Cliver se joint au branding Nike habituel de languette et les insoles sont différentes : simplement blanche avec la signature Cliver et le branding Nike SB bleu pour le pied droit, et comportant une illustration multicolore « lutin de noël » pour le pied gauche. La douillette doublure intérieure en velours, ici de couleur blanche, rappelle l’itération StrangeLove du mois de février. L’ensemble repose sur une midsole blanche avec un liséré or, combinée à une outsole semi-translucide vert d’eau pailleté or, apportant la touche finale de design.
La Sean Cliver x Nike Dunk Low sortira le 18 décembre 2020 dans les skateshops sélectionnés et sur nike.com le jour suivant, le 19 décembre, pour un prix conseillé de 100€. Il se pourrait que la paire soit livrée dans une spécial box rappelant un cadeau de Noël…
Sean Cliver is one of the most respected artists in the world of skateboarding. Immersed for decades in this once underground industry and culture, he has illustrated boards, written books and participated in several projects with the biggest streetwear brands, such as Supreme and Baker. In 2012, Cliver collaborated with the Nike SB division on a memorable Dunk High named « Krampus » and more recently, with his StrangeLove imprint, on a velvet Dunk Low StrangeLove in pink and red. The head of StrangeLove Skateboard offers us today his personal version.
The shoe consists of a white leather upper with snowflake shaped perforations on the toebox. The overlays appear in light blue suede and the side Swoosh in shiny gold, a nod to gift wrapping. Silver laces and a silver collar complete the design. The name Cliver joins the usual Nike tongue branding and the insoles are different : simply white with the Cliver signature and blue Nike SB branding for the right foot, and featuring a multi-colored « Christmas Elf » illustration for the left foot. The cozy velvet inner lining, here in white, is reminiscent of February’s StrangeLove iteration. The whole is based on a white midsole with a gold edging, combined with a semi-translucent green water green outsole glittered in gold to add the final design touch.
The Sean Cliver x Nike Dunk Low will be released on December 18, 2020 in selected skateshops and on nike.com the following day, December 19, for a suggested retail price of 100€. The pair may be delivered in a special box reminiscent of a Christmas gift…
