[:fr]La division basketball de NIKE dévoile officiellement la très attendue 1ère chaussure signature du joueur NBA Temetrius Jamel « Ja » Morant. Sous contrat avec la marque au Swoosh depuis 2019, la star des Memphis Grizzlies rentre donc dans le cercle très fermé des basketteurs honorés par leur silhouette NIKE personnelle.
Ja Morant devient le 4ème joueur NBA soutenu par Nike avec une chaussure signature active. Cette nouvelle silhouette est présentée après que l’équipementier de Beaverton ait mis fin au partenariat avec Kyrie Irving.
Le joueur des Memphis Grizzlies est le 1er athlète de la génération Z à obtenir une chaussure signature Nike. Ja Morant évolue au poste de meneur pour les Memphis Grizzlies et a été drafté en 2ème position de la draft 2019. À l’issue de sa 1ère saison professionnelle, le natif de Caroline du Sud remporte le prestigieux titre de NBA Rookie of the Year. Il devient All-Star en 2022 et remporte également le titre de NBA Most Improved Player. Ja Morant est connu pour son style de jeu ‘fearless’, qui représente la culture du basket moderne et l’évolution du jeu. Dans un communiqué, Ja Morant s’est également exprimé sur ce sujet : « C’est une chaussure pour les outsiders qui ont la rage en eux, des sneakers pour tous ceux qui ont déjà été sous-estimés ou négligés, à qui l’on a dit qu’ils étaient trop petits, ou que leurs rêves étaient trop grands …. Je veux que tout le monde ait le sentiment, lorsqu’il porte la Ja 1, qu’il n’est inférieur à personne. »
Habitué à porter des Kobe ou des KD 4, Ja Morant a naturellement choisi une tige basse à la limite du mid, pour le shape de sa Nike Ja 1.
Selon la marque au Swoosh, cette 1ère chaussure permet au joueur de mieux se contrôler tout en offrant un temps de suspension maximal. La silhouette amortie par le Zoom réduit la force d’atterrissage grâce aux avantages du lockdown, ce qui est important pour un meneur de jeu. La Ja 1 se compose d’un upper mélangeant du mesh et du cuir afin d’apporter confort et performance. Le logo signature de Morant correspond à un ‘JA’ stylisé apposé au-dessus d’un chevron, qui représente son athlétisme dynamique dans toutes les directions. Ce branding exclusif orne le tag de languette. La chaussure se pare également du numéro ‘12’ du joueur au niveau du talon.
Nike a dévoilé la silhouette Ja 1 le 25 décembre 2022, via un communiqué de presse officiel. Après l’annonce, la star de la NBA a porté le coloris « Chimney » sur le parquet lors du match de Noël entre les Memphis Grizzlies et les Golden State Warriors. Cette version apparaît dans un dégradé de la couleur purple, donnant un effet délavé. La base est accompagnée de superpositions basses ‘presque’ grises et d’un Swoosh latéral entourant l’arrière du pied en TPU noir. Une semelle bicolore bleu glacier/purple finalise le design.
La Nike Ja 1 « Chimney » devrait sortir au cours des 1ers mois de 2023, chez les détaillants sélectionnés et sur nike.com. D’autres coloris nous seront proposés en parallèle, tels que le ‘Day One’ aux tons pastel bleu/jaune/rose. Sur son compte Instagram, Ja Morant a annoncé : « Le 12 janvier, je choisirai 12 fans à qui j’enverrai une paire de mes nouvelles chaussures pour le printemps ». The Memphis Grizzlies player is the 1st Generation Z athlete to get a Nike signature shoe. Ja Morant plays point guard for the Memphis Grizzlies and was drafted 2nd overall in the 2019 draft. In a statement, Ja Morant also spoke on the subject : « This is a shoe for the underdog who has the dog in them, sneakers for anyone who has ever been underestimated or overlooked, told they were too small, or their dreams were too big …. I want everyone to feel, when they wear the Ja 1, that they are not inferior to anyone. »
Accustomed to wearing either Kobe or KD 4s, Ja Morant naturally chose a low mid upper for the shape of his Nike Ja 1.
According to the swoosh brand, this 1st shoe allows the player to better control himself while providing maximum hang time. The Zoom cushioned silhouette reduces landing force with lockdown benefits, which is important for a point guard. The Ja 1 consists of an upper mixing mesh and leather that provide comfort and performance. Morant’s signature logo is a stylized ‘JA’ emblazoned above a chevron, representing his dynamic athleticism in all directions. This exclusive branding adorns the tongue tag. The shoe also features the player’s number ’12’ on the heel.
Nike unveiled the Ja 1 silhouette on December 25, 2022, via an official press release. After the announcement, the NBA star wore the « Chimney » colorway on the playground during the Christmas game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors. This version appears in a gradient of the color purple, giving a faded effect. The base is accompanied by ‘almost’ grey low overlays and a side Swoosh surrounding the back of the foot in black TPU. A two-tone ice blue/purple outsole finalizes the design.
The Nike Ja 1 « Chimney » is expected to be released in the early months of 2023 at select retailers and on nike.com. Other colorways will follow, such as the ‘Day One’ in pastel blue/yellow/pink.
