Pour rendre hommage au regretté rappeur MAC MILLER, la marque VANS dévoile une édition spéciale de sa légendaire silhouette AUTHENTIC. Conçue en collaboration avec la succession Mac Miller, cette chaussure célèbre le 5ème anniversaire de la sortie du dernier album de l’artiste, ‘Swimming’.
L’album ‘Swimming’ est sorti le 3 août 2018, environ 1 mois avant le décès soudain du talentueux rappeur de Pittsburg. Il s’agit du dernier album de Mac Miller de son vivant. Ce projet a fait ses débuts à la 3ème place au Billboard 200 américain et a permis d’obtenir un titre posthume aux Grammy pour Mac Miller en tant que meilleur album rap de l’année 2018.
Rappelant l’univers de l’artiste, cette sneaker se compose d’un upper en toile noire avec des coutures blanches. La toe box est ornée du symbole du Ying et du Yang blanc/noir, qui se voit entouré du texte ‘Swimming by Mac Miller’ répété 3 fois. Pour compléter l’hommage à l’album et l’artiste, la mention commémorative de couleur noire ‘Mac Miller 1992 til ∞’ (l’année de naissance de Mac Miller jusqu’à l’infini) est apposée latéralement sur la midsole blanche. Des œillets métalliques blancs et des lacets assortis, une étiquette Vans cousue sur le quater panel et le traditionnel badge rouge Vans Off The Wall à l’arrière du talon, apportent la touche finale au design.

La marque Vans précise qu’une partie des bénéficies de vente de cette Authentic collaborative sera reversée à la Fondation Mac Miller, une organisation à but non lucratif qui offre une aide aux enfants des communautés défavorisées afin qu’ils puissent s’épanouir dans leurs passions artistiques et appréhender l’avenir positivement. Cette fondation soutient également des organisations qui identifient et traitent les problèmes de toxicomanie dans l’industrie de la musique.

The album ‘Swimming’ was released on August 3, 2018, about 1 month before the talented Pittsburgh rapper died suddenly. This is Mac Miller’s last album during his lifetime. This project debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200 and won a posthumous Grammy title for Mac Miller as the best rap album of the year 2018.
