L’emblématique marque japonaise ASICS enchaîne les collaborations attractives. Après nous avoir présenté dernièrement une collab avec le label de mode KENZO, elle dévoile un projet exclusif imaginé avec le shop de Philadelphie LAPSTONE & HAMMER.
Cette nouvelle collab est basée sur les silhouettes des Gel-NYC et Gel-1130. 2 modèles au look running accrocheur et à la construction robuste.
LAPSTONE & HAMMER avait déjà expérimenté la teinture par immersion des chaussures dans le passé, mais ne les avait jamais mises en vente jusqu’à présent.
Ce shop entretient un lien particulier avec la teinture Indigo. Il a spécialement choisit les modèles asics Gel-NYC et Gel-1130 pour ce projet, non seulement pour leur popularité récente mais aussi en pensant que leur abondance de superpositions en mesh, en daim et en nubuck supporterait très bien la teinture naturelle.
Brian Nadav, le patron de la boutique, s’est investi pendant des mois pour que cette collaboration exclusive voit le jour. Il a mené des essais approfondis en utilisant différents colorants, différents modèles de baskets, différentes durées de trempage, différentes températures de l’eau et différents types de lavages avant et après teinture, le tout dans le but de perfectionner la méthode de ce projet « Indigo Dip Dye ».
A propos de ce processus de création, Brian Nadav a confié : « Ça fait du bien d’être de retour au laboratoire pour teindre et échantillonner avec de l’indigo. L’intention ici était de donner l’impression que ces chaussures ressemblent à votre vieux jean délavé préféré. Beaucoup de soin et d’attention ont été portés afin d’obtenir le lavage approprié pour un fondu parfait, tout en conservant une gamme de tons indigo dans chaque paire. Je suis vraiment heureux de la façon dont ces paires sont finies. »
Après des mois de tests, Brian et Dato, le responsable de l’entrepôt de confiance de Lapstone, ont personnellement trempé à la main chaque paire d’asics Gel-NYC et Gel-1130. La teinture est entièrement réalisée à la main en petits lots, il n’y en a donc aucune sneaker identique. Ces modèles collaboratifs apparaissent dans une gamme de tons indigo allant du stonewash clair à l’indigo profond.
Les LAPSTONE x ASICS GEL-NYC et le GEL-1130 « Indigo Dip Dye » sortiront en édition limitée à 100 paires au total, le samedi 3 février à 10 h dans le shop LAPSTONE & HAMMER de Philadelphie et online sur lapstoneandhammer.com. [:en]The emblematic Japanese brand ASICS continues its string of attractive collaborations. Having recently presented a collab with fashion label KENZO, it now unveils an exclusive project imagined with Philadelphia shop LAPSTONE & HAMMER.
This new collab is based on the Gel-NYC and Gel-1130 silhouettes, 2 models with an eye-catching running look and robust construction.
LAPSTONE & HAMMER had already experimented with dip-dyeing shoes in the past, but had never offered them for sale until now.
This shop has a special bond with Indigo dyeing. It specially chose the asics Gel-NYC and Gel-1130 models for this project, not only for their recent popularity but also in the belief that their abundance of mesh, suede and nubuck overlays would stand up very well to natural dyeing.
Boutique owner Brian Nadav invested months in bringing this exclusive collaboration to fruition. He conducted extensive trials using different dyes, different sneaker models, different soaking times, different water temperatures and different types of washes before and after dyeing, all with the aim of perfecting the method for this « Indigo Dip Dye » project.
Commenting on this creative process, Brian Nadav says : « It feels good to be back in the lab, dyeing and sampling with indigo. The intention here was to make these shoes look like your favorite old faded jeans. A lot of care and attention went into getting the wash just right for a perfect fade, while maintaining a range of indigo tones in each pair. I’m really happy with the way these pairs turned out. »
After months of testing, Brian and Dato, Lapstone’s trusted warehouse manager, personally hand-dipped each pair of asics Gel-NYC and Gel-1130. All dyeing is done by hand in small batches, so no two sneakers are alike. These collaborative models appear in a range of indigo tones from light stonewash to deep indigo.
The LAPSTONE x ASICS GEL-NYC and GEL-1130 « Indigo Dip Dye » will be released in a limited edition of 100 pairs in total, on Saturday February 3 at 10 a.m. in Philadelphia’s LAPSTONE & HAMMER shop and online at lapstoneandhammer.com.
