Plus tôt cette année, la division Skateboarding d’ADIDAS a remis sur le devant de la scène le fameux modèle classique Adimatic. Pour apporter une touche de fraicheur à la silhouette des 90’s, le géant allemand a invité le skateur pro Jamal Smith à la remodeler.
Jamal Smith skate pour adidas, Palace et Nocturnal. Grand maître de rotations improbables et de la nonchalance, il est connu pour son style unique et pour son célèbre « Tornada Spin ».
En revisitant la Adimatic, il souhaite rendre hommage à la culture skate des années 90, à ses débuts sur la scène de Philadelphie et démontrer son amour pour le hip-hop.
Jamal Smith a commenté : « Je suis incroyablement reconnaissant de faire partie de la famille Three Stripes. Je n’aurais jamais pensé avoir l’opportunité de travailler avec adidas [sur un modèle pro]. Le lancement d’Adimatic me fait ressentir un mélange d’émotions – je suis extrêmement reconnaissant et abasourdi. Cela signifie le monde pour moi. Je vais certainement skater ce modèle pendant une minute et j’espère que le reste du monde l’appréciera aussi. »
La paire spéciale se présente dans une palette de couleur noire et orange faisant référence à la ville natale de Jamal Smith et à l’emblématique spot « Philadeplia Flyers and Love Park » qui a lancé sa carrière mondiale.
Elle arbore un design honorant le hip-hop et les sample loops, et le skateur la rendu encore plus solide afin d’accentuer la performance et la durabilité.
Elle se compose d’un upper en superpositions de daim noir avec les emblématiques 3 Stripes en nubuck de couleur orange. Cette teinte a aussi été choisie pour le branding appliqué sur l’insole noire Ortholite et pour définir le badge circulaire adidas sur l’arrière du pied. Des brandings blancs sur le tag de languette et sur le talon complètent le design. Pour affirmer l’inspiration et assurer le confort, les clips noirs à l’avant et au niveau du talon se parent d’un motif en zig-zag et l’épaisse midsole en ton sur ton comporte des détails de vagues. L’ensemble repose sur une outsole en gomme ultra-résistante.
La Jamal Smith x adidas skateboarding Adimatic sortira le 14 mai 2022 chez les détaillants sélectionnés et les skateshops partenaires, ainsi que sur adidas.com, au prix de 100€.

The special pair comes in a black and orange color palette referencing Jamal Smith’s hometown and the iconic « Philadeplia Flyers and Love Park » spot that launched his global career.
It features a design that honors hip-hop and sample loops, and the skateboarder made it even tougher to accentuate performance and durability.
It consists of a black suede overlay upper with the iconic 3 Stripes in orange nubuck. This hue was also chosen for the branding applied to the black Ortholite insole and to define the circular adidas badge on the back of the foot. White branding on the tongue tag and on the heel complete the design. For inspiration and comfort, the black clips at the front and heel are adorned with a zig-zag pattern and the thick tonal midsole features wave detailing. The whole is based on a heavy-duty gum outsole.
The Jamal Smith x adidas skateboarding Adimatic will be released on May 14, 2022 at select retailers and partner skateshops, as well as on adidas.com, for $100.
