The German giant ADIDAS continues to invite different brands to reinterpret its cult silhouettes, including the famous Campus 80s. After presenting us with a collaborative iteration with KITH, Size? or the South Park animated series franchise (articles available on this site), the brand with the 3 stripes invites the Parisian label Youth of Paris to bring its touch to this retro lifestyle silhouette.
YOUTH of PARIS is a Parisian brand created in 2015 by young designer Alex Lopez. Although it is relatively new, it has managed to appeal to an audience fond of « grunge » streetwear aesthetics, mixing strong designs with neon hues and materials used in a non-conformist spirit.
The Youth of Paris x adidas Campus 80s unveiled today features a punk-rock/metal look with references to the 80s, a nod to the fashion trends dating back to the sneaker’s initial release.
The shoe features a « distressed » black denim upper enhanced by the addition of used stitching and black leather inserts at the heel tab, inner lining and insole. The iconic adidas 3-Stripes on the side look even more worn than the rest of the sneaker. They stand out with their lighter shade of color close to grey. The strong and bold design of this collab is accentuated by thick purple stitching on the laceguard and heel, as well as black and neon green Youth of Paris branding in a graffiti street-art style applied to the tongue. The whole is based on a black sole with a subtle juxtaposition of black suede above the heel. To ensure the best matchings, 3 sets of laces, black, neon green and purple are included. The pair comes with an ID card and neon green translucent case, and a streetwear inspired special box that finalizes the strong design.
The Youth of Paris x adidas Campus 80s will be released on January 28th, 2023, for 100€ exclusively on the french brand website youthofparis.com.
