A few months ago, Wind and Sea joined forces with atmos, adidas and Russel Athletic to offer us an exclusive triple collaborative collection (article available HERE). The Japanese brand continues its momentum and unveils a new opus developed with its famous compatriot ASICS. This 100% Japanese collaboration is based on the famous GEL-Nimbus 9.
Takashi Kumagai, the founder and creative director of Wind and Sea, gives a simple and elegant look to the performance running shoe.
It appears in 2 eye-catching colorways : white/cream/silver and cream/metallic blue/silver.
The sneaker consists of a breathable mesh base, complemented by silver synthetic overlays in cream or metallic blue depending on the version. The inner lining and laces are presented in the shade of the low overlay, cream or metallic blue. The collab is subtly affirmed by the name « SEA » affixed to the side heel, below the « GEL-Nimbus ». As for the tongue tag, it retains its usual and iconic asics logo. The whole is based on a white or cream midsole with GEL units under the heel and forefoot, as well as on a tone-on-tone or metallic blue outsole depending on the iteration.
The WIND AND SEA x ASICS GEL-Nimbus 9 duo will be released on October 22, 2022 in stores and online at windandsea.jp, as well as at select retailers worldwide like NAKED, Jogging / Starcow / Milk / The Next Door / The Broken Arm / Le Rayon Frais / Shoez Galler. Don’t sleep !
