UNDERCOVER, the ready-to-wear brand from Japanese designer Jun Takahashi, continues its successful partnership with American giant Nike. Launched more than 2 years ago, the retro-futuristic silhouette UNDERCOVER x Nike Daybreak has surfaced on social networks in a understated and rather autumnal colorway : « Wheat ».
This revisited shoe combines past and future. It retains its retro runner shape, while benefiting from futuristic and offbeat additions to the back of the foot. Unlike some of the previous bold versions, the iteration unveiled today is dressed in the discreet colors beige-wheat and black.
It consists of a wheat-colored nylon base, complemented by matching suede overlays. The premium suede heel and leather side Swoosh add an elegant touch of contrast with their black colorway. The highlight of this silhouette is at the back of the foot : the black speckled wheat heel cap features a futuristic design and the black UNDERCOVER « U » logo. To complete the look, the midsole, emblazoned with UNDERCOVER branding, appears in wheat with a black speckle effect, combined with a black lugged outsole. Thick wheat-colored laces and associated branding on the tongue tag finalize the design.
The UNDERCOVER x Nike Daybreak « Wheat » is expected to be released in Fall 2021, at select retailers and nike.com, for the usual price of 160$. More info to come, stay tuned !
