During the presentation of its Spring/Summer 2022 lookbook, the Japanese brand UNDERCOVER unveiled a new collaboration with NIKE based on the iconic AIR FORCE 1 LOW (article available HERE). In addition to this trio, the 2 partners have also designed a black Gore-Tex version.
This special AF1 is part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the silhouette designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982.
With a look that is both trail and chic, the bball has some modifications compared to the original model. It gets the addition of a TPU heel reinforcement, with a strap that goes all the way to the top eyelets, and a collar reshaped to match the top of a neoprene bootie.
As for the design, the shoe consists of a smooth black leather upper lined with Gore-Tex, with matching overlays. To affirm the design, the iconic side Swoosh, shiny TPU heel reinforcement and neoprene collar are also dressed in black. The pair is adorned with metallic silver dubraes engraved with « CHAOS » on one foot and « BALANCE » on the other, the symbolic words of Jun Takahashi’s brand, as well as a small black and yellow « Gore-Tex » label. An insole co-branding and a black circular badge « NIKE x UNDERCOVER Chaos/Balance » on the tongue affirm the collab. The whole is based on an all-white contrasting sole.
The UNDERCOVER x Nike Air Force 1 Gore-Tex « Black » is set to release soon in stores and online at undercoverism.com and nike.com, as well as at select retailers. More info to come, stay tuned !
