Undefeated x Vans Old Skool LX « U-Man »

After working with Nike on the collaborative collection « Dunk vs AF1 » (article available HERE), the Californian label UNDEFEATED joins forces with their neighbors at VANS to offer us a revisited Old Skool LX silhouette.

This new project pays tribute to their first collab dating from 2007 based on the Sk8-Hi. This shoe was inspired by the « U-Man » pattern of the artist Geoff McFetridge.

15 years later, the 2 partners are back with an Old Skool LX adorned with this cult pattern for UNDEFEATED. As a reminder, the « U-Man » was designed by the famous Geoff McFetridge at the time when the shop of Eddie Cruz and James Bond opened its doors for the first time in La Brea in 2002. The design was a gift from the artist to his friends and co-founders of UNDEFEATED. The « U-Man » has become the mascot of the California-based brand and an essential element in its Five Strike logo.

The Old Skool LX collaborative silhouette comes in 3 colorways : « Bistro Green », « Blue Lolite » and « Buckthorn Brown ». It combines soft pig suede on the toe box, eyelets and heel, with rugged canvas covered in U-Man print on the sides of the foot, collar and tongue. The iconic side stripe appears in a shade of the majority color to provide both contrast and harmony. To affirm the collab, the famous Five Strike logo and Vans branding are coupled on the tongue tag and the semi-translucent white dubraes are adorned with the UNDFTD branding. The whole is based on a white midsole paired with a waffle rubber outsole in green, blue or yellow depending on the iteration.

The Undefeated x Vans Old Skool LX « U-Man » trio will be released on December 4, 2021 in stores and online at undefeated.com. To accompany these pairs, a collection of t-shirts will be offered.
