News of an upcoming collab between streetwear brand UNDEFEATED and Nike, based on the flagship Dunk Low silhouette, had surfaced back in September 2020 (article dispo HERE). Now, the exclusive sneaker has been spotted on the foot of James Bond, the co-founder of the L.A. label, in the video showcasing UNDEFEATED X McLaren SP number 7 project for Felix Rosenqvist’s at the Indy 500.
Originally expected to come in yellow and earthy brown, this special version of the Dunk Low adopts these hues but in a more specific colorway, corresponding to a former collaboration between the 2 partners, the Air Force 1 Low « Canteen » from 2006.
The shoe combines thick dark brown textile panels with a mudguard and laceguard covered in an off-white and brown houndstooth pattern. The back area of the shoe and the iconic side Swoosh appear in leather, in light brown and bright yellow respectively. The design is harmoniously completed with a cream brown lining and matching laces. Branding details are presented in white : the UNDEFEATED logo embroidered on the side heel and Nike branding affixed to the heel tab. The finishing touch is provided by an off-white midsole and a dark brown outsole.
This pair could be part of an « Air Force 1 VS Dunk » pack, which would offer us reversed colorways on the old collabs of the early 2000s. Like the sneaker presented today, the Dunks would be dressed in AF1 colors and vice versa. To be continued …
